中制稻科农2号系安徽省农科院水稻所用七桂早25作母本，荆糯6号作父本杂交，系谱法选育而成。该品系具有高产、米质好、抗多种病虫、中熟、适应性好等特点。1991年、1992年参加本所中舢稻新品种（系）预备试验，亩产分别为542．1公斤和531．O公斤，较对照桂朝2号分别增产5．8％
