In September 1981, the 24th International Conference on Refractories was held in West Germany. A quarter of the 19 academic papers read out at the meeting focused on ceramic fibers. This fully shows that the international community attaches great importance to ceramic fibers. Domestic application of ceramic fiber as a high-quality energy-saving material is currently in the ascendant. Its development prospects are extremely optimistic and ambitious. The following is a brief introduction to its development and application, for reference by relevant comrades. 1. Development of Aluminum Silicate Ceramic Fibers As an energy-saving and heat-resistant refractory material, aluminum silicate fibers (or ceramic fibers) have been used in industry for less than two decades.
