MMT的应用有利于石油资源的合理利用,并因为提高了汽油辛烷值而使汽油燃烧更完全,明显减少能源消耗,是一种对社会节能减排效果明显的燃油添加剂。主要应用于炼油企业,提供了一种简单、有效、低成本的提高无铅汽油辛烷值(汽油标号)的措施,是汽油无铅化后原广泛使用的四乙基铅抗爆添加剂的替代品,可缓解日益扩大的汽油辛烷值缺口问题,以适应我国高压缩比汽车发动机不断增多,也有助于炼油企业降低资金投入、节能降耗。
