进入90年代,香港房地产业蓬勃发展,带动了家具、装饰行业迅猛发展,加上以深圳为首的珠江三角洲经济的全面开放,香港许多家私制造商纷纷在深圳、东莞、广州、中山等地投资办厂,为了加强香港家具企业与国内政府及有关部门的沟通,同时,为了紧跟国际家具发展的新潮流;加强国际间的交流与合作等,于1991年在香港成立了“国际家私装饰业（香港）协会”,并制定了协会的服务宗旨;为服务会员,加强港、台、内地间的合作,互相沟通信息,促进技术交流,拓展海内外市场,把我们的产品与服务带给千家万户,让人们生活得更美好。
