从芳香的角度看,木犀科有两张王牌——桂花和茉莉花。桂花(Osmanthus fragrans)属于木犀属。它的芳香特性从拉丁学名中就可以看出:属名“Osmanthus”源于希腊文,是“香花”的意思;种加词“fragrans”是“芳香”的意思。这是一种灌木或小乔木,叶经冬不凋,故汉代东方朔的《七谏》中云:“登峦山而远望兮,好桂树之冬荣。”
From an aromatic perspective, Oleaceae has two trump cards - osmanthus and jasmine. Osmanthus fragrans belongs to the genus Osmanthus. Its aroma characteristic can be seen from the Latin scientific name: The genus “Osmanthus” is derived from the Greek, is the meaning of “fragrant flowers”; the implication “fragrans” is “fragrant”. This is a shrub or small tree, the leaves are not withered through the winter, so the Han Dynasty Dongfang Shuo “Seven remonstrance” in the cloud: “Deng Canshan and look from the distant, Laurel winter glory.”
