研究已证明同义密码子的使用并非随机的,造成偏差的原因与物种有关。对于绦虫在该方面只研究过棘球绦虫属的细粒棘球绦虫和多房棘球绦虫的基因序列,发现翻译水平倾向于使用第3位碱基为G和C的密码子。但对密码子的使用是否存在基因间变异尚无研究,且以往研究的基因序列较少。本文作者利用多元方差分析以及大量的DNA序列研究棘球绦虫属密码子的使用模式。
Research has shown that the use of synonymous codons is not random, and the causes of the deviations are species-dependent. For the tapeworm, only the gene sequences of Echinococcus granulosus and Echinococcus multilocularis were studied in this respect and the level of translation was found to favor the use of codons 3 and 4 for G and C, respectively. However, there is no study on the existence of inter-gene variation in the use of codons, and fewer gene sequences have been studied in the past. The authors used multivariate analysis of variance and a large number of DNA sequences to study patterns of codon usage in Echinococcuss.
