From the perspectives of artists, national consciousness, art market and contemporary large-scale international exhibitions, the article deeply introspects the relationship between globalization and multiculturalism and the relationship between identity and individual artistic creation. In the context of globalization, the ethnic consciousness in the ethnic minorities and the marginal areas has had a strong conflict with the old European-centrism awareness in the contemporary multiculturalism and has also produced an interaction. The creation of Latin American artists not only reflects their national identity, embodies the concept of multiculturalism, but also reflects the core issue of the conflict along with the way the western art world operates and recognizes. The relationship between multiculturalism’s identity issues, ethnic distinctions, national divisions, globalization, and different concepts such as hierarchy, periphery and center is the focus of this study.
