请看下面两个句子都有specialized这个词,只是修饰语不同,该怎么理解,怎么译? 1) Creatures such as the camel and the penguin are so highly specialized that they have an extremely limited distribution. 2) Human beings are among the least specialized of all animals and can live almost anywhere. 笔者虽让许多学生反复阅读全文然后试着译,结果他们都基本上把1)句译为:“骆驼和企鹅是这样专门化的动物,它们分布在极其有限的地方。”2)句译为:“人类是所有动物中最少专门化的,几乎能在任何地方生存。”显然,这样的译文是不能让人接受的。读来既诘屈聱牙,又使人不知所云。

The author allowed many students to read the full text and try to translate it. As a result, they basically translated 1) as: “Camels and penguins are such specialized animals. They are distributed in extremely limited places.“ 2) The sentence is translated as: ”Human being the least specialized of all animals, can survive almost anywhere." Obviously, such a translation is unacceptable. When you read it, you can only bend your teeth, and you can’t know who you are.
