在大型指针式石英钟中用数据比较器实现自动追补问题，与使用单片机相比，不需要熟知微机原理和汇编语言程序设计知识，生产费用也较低。实践证明，两者追补效果相同。该电器可用于时间或顺序控制中，也可以用数据比较器配合一 些辅助电路实现自动调节功能。
