Phenyl thiourea (Phengl thiocarbamrde or Phenyl thiourea abbreviation P.T.C) is a white crystalline compound synthesized from urea, containing a bitter taste thio amide structure. When Fox did the quantitative analysis of P.T.C in 1931, Noller, who worked together, said the room tasted so bitter that he felt it. It was found that when the crowd tasted it, it can be divided into two kinds of people who can taste bitter taste tasters and those who can not taste bitter taste blindness. In 1934, Parr found that the percentages of blind persons of different ethnic groups were different. The percentage of blind persons in the surveyed population with phenylthiourea could provide basic data for ethnographic and human population genetics, providing references for twins and paternity tests.
