The equations describing the influence of the ocean floor topography on the oceanic fluctuations in the tropical continuous stratified ocean are given. The equations reveal that the modes of the linear system are no longer independent with each other due to the finite amplitude submarine topography. The linear superposition of modes can not truly reflect the structure of the ocean circulation field.
