在过去的近二十年中,中国海洋有机地球化学在中国边缘海及一些大河口(黄河、长江)体系中进行了研究,获得了诸多成果,如:中国边缘海的物质输入特点是陆源输入的影响由北至南减弱而海源输入正相反;在长江和黄河体系中,陆源输入的贡献占绝对优势,且受一定人文活动的影响;生物标志物研究和古海洋学方面的应用表明了目前我国的海洋有机地球化学的实力。但从整体上看,我国的海洋有机地球化学在广度和深度上仍距国际水平有一定的差距,尚需进一步加强研究。
