李威的绘画像是投射在荧幕上的影像,模糊的图像似乎在我们的视网上颤动着,向我们暗示它原本应该一闪而过,但偏偏不由自主地停在我们眼前。影像的伦理在于运动,这是人类发明摄像机的原因:记录运动,用化学与物理的方式留住时间。影像一般以24帧/秒的速度播放,因为人类眼睛的视觉暂留现象正好符合每秒24帧的标准,机器在人工化的模拟人类日常的视觉模式。显然,绘画对此无能无力。
Li Wei’s paintings are like images projected onto the screen. The vague image seems to be trembling on our eyes, suggesting to us that it should have been a flash, but it just could not help but stop at our eyes. The ethics of the image lies in the movement, which is why humans invent the camera: recording the movement, keeping time in a chemical and physical way. Images are typically played at 24 frames per second because the visual persistence of human eyes fits exactly at 24 frames per second and the machine is in a simulated artificial human daily visual mode. Obviously, the painting is ineffective.
