潘伯鹰(1882-1967),原名式,字伯鹰,后以字行,别署孤云。号凫公、有发翁等,安徽怀宁人。幼习经史,1899年赴上海学习英、法、拉丁文。毕业于上海交通大学,留学北美,游学德国,后又留学日本。后潜心考据、义理之学,研究古代哲学、佛学、文学等。1939年夏,在四川筹设复性书院任院长兼主讲。1953年任浙江文史馆馆长,1964年任中央文史馆副馆长。潘伯鹰有“儒释哲一代宗师”之称。他精诗词,书法多山林气,篆刻崇尚汉印。一生著述宏富,在书法方面的著作主要有《中国书法简论》、《中国的书法》、《朱子读书法》、《观画录》、《观古纪馀》等。潘伯鹰的《书法杂论》一文,从执笔、临习、用墨、出新等几个方面进行了深入浅出的阐述,这对我们在书法的学习和探索,可能有很高的参考价值。

In 1953, he served as curator of Zhejiang Wenshi Museum and deputy director of the Central Museum of Chinese History in 1964. Pan Bo Ying has “Confucianism, philosophy and generation of master” is said. His fine poetry, calligraphy mountainous woods, seal carving advocate Han Yin. His works include “A Brief Introduction to Chinese Calligraphy”, “Calligraphy in China”, “Reading of Zhu Xi”, “Viewpoints on Pictorial Records” and “View of Ancient Records”. Pan Bo Ying’s “miscellaneous calligraphy,” a paper, from the writing, practice, use of ink, new and several other aspects of the profound theories in simple language, which for our study and exploration of calligraphy, may have a high reference value.
