党的十六大报告指出,贯彻“三个代表”重要思想,本质在坚持执政为民。这就深刻揭示了“三个代表”的根本要求之中,最本质的要求是执政为民。如何贯彻这一本质要求,胡锦涛同志强调:“关键是要坚持做到权为民所用,情为民所系,利为民所谋。”这就明确了执政为民的关键在为民。因为只有始终坚持全心全意为人民谋利益,才能得到广大人民群众的拥护和支持,才能维护和巩固我们党的执政地位。我们党要始终坚持和巩固执政地位,就必须始终代表中国最广大人民的根本利益,任何时候任何情况下都不能脱离最广大的人民群众。
