British Ricardo Flywheel recently announced that Artemis Intelligent Power, a digital hydraulics specialist, will offer the next generation TorqStor high-speed flywheel energy storage technology for the DDflyTrain research project to demonstrate the energy storage of flywheels on the EMU. In the meantime, Ricardo first delivered the TorqStor evaluation prototype unit to Artemis to promote the use of advanced high-speed flywheel technology to save on rail fuel.
