Electronic equipment manufacturers use liquid crystal displays (LCDs) for the production of calculators, spreadsheets, mini-video game consoles and pagers. The LCD consumes only a few microwatts compared to LED (Light Emitting Diode) displays that consume tens of milliwatts.
