“There will be a flying race(1) on Sports Day. It will be the biggest race this year,” Coach(2) Bob told Victor and Sean, two young pigeon(3) athletes(4).

其实,饲养鸽子的传说最早出现在古罗马神话里,战神马尔斯派鸽子送信给女神维纳斯;在旧约圣经“诺亚方舟”的故事里,诺亚夫妻为了确定洪水是否已经退去,派了鸽子出去查看,当鸽子叼回一根橄榄枝时,诺亚才知道世界上的洪水已经退了;另外,1949年的国际和平会议决定以毕加索在一张海报上画的鸽子作为和平的象征,从此也称鸽子为“和平鸽”。
