编者注:姚小平,祖籍浙江省平湖县乍浦镇,1953年3月23日生于上海,现为北京外国语大学外国语言研究所研究员,博士生导师,《外语教学与研究》双月刊主编,《当代语言学》、《语言研究》、《语言科学》、《外语学刊》杂志编委,沈阳师范大学、北外日本学研究中心客座教授,福建师大、西南师大、西北师大、东北师大等校兼职教授。我的英语基本上是自学来的。可是一开始,我的发音肯定是很糟糕的,之后听了英语广播,才逐渐纠正过来。模仿发音的能力想必是一种普遍的语音能力。一个人如果能够把一种外语的语音语调学得像模像样,那么他学起别的外语或者方言来,多半也能把发音模仿好。

My English is basically self-taught. But at first, my pronunciation was definitely bad, and after listening to English radio, I gradually corrected it. The ability to imitate pronunciation must have been a universal voice ability. If a person can learn the phonetic tone of a foreign language well, then he learns another foreign language or dialect, and most of them can imitate phonetics well.
