根雕作为一门造型艺术,它的审美特征是什么?或者说,根雕艺术应有怎样的艺术品格?这是任何从事根雕艺术的匠师们不能不思考的问题。分别荣获“中国根雕优秀作品博览会”第三届金牌的竹根雕《眷恋》(张德和作)和第四届金牌奖的树根雕《寒江独钓》(高公博作),在这方面给予我们以很多的启示。凡是艺术都有它们的共性,任何门类艺术也都有它的与众不同的特性。鲁迅先生早年论及美术时,曾提出“天物、思理、美化”三原则。我觉得这三原则至今仍有其现实意义,甚至可以用来指导我们的根艺创作。照我个人的看法,这三个原则用在根艺上,“天物”是指艺术家要善于发现和利用自然的
