依据生产需要,1983年选育出沈圆A×穿心红-23综合经济性状优良的秋冬萝卜一代杂种,定名为宁红萝卜。其特点:(1)丰产:亩产达2000～5000kg,比对照增产24％～83.6％;(2)优质:肉质根致密、味甜不辣,营养成分均高于对照品种;(3)商品性好:肉质根红皮、粗圆筒形,单根重1kg左右;(4)生长快:秋播后50天左右即可按市场需求收获上市;(5)耐贮藏:11月下旬采收,可贮藏到翌年2～3月蔬菜春缺时上市;(6)抗病:比对照品种抗毒素病与霜霉病;(7)制种简易:利用胞质雄性不育系制种简便,成本低,种子质量高。
