On August 2, 1922, the entire North American telephone system was silent. This is to commemorate the death of Alexander Graham Bell, a U.S. scientist who made the phone call. Alexander Graham Bell was born in Scotland on March 3, 1847. He has many talents and his life’s desire for knowledge has never been met before. Bell’s research phone started with “sound.” He had long been interested in ways of human communication, but he invented the phone because of his interest in languages. His father and grandfather were both educated in deaf and mute, and at that time were considered first-class authority in speech and language correction. Bell was influenced by family education from an early age and inherited his father’s career as a language teacher in a deaf school. This laid the foundation for his subsequent telephony to become familiar with and master human language skills.
