“外语教学的根本目的不是传授语法知识,而是培养交际能力;学习者产生的语言不仅要符合语法要求,而且要符合社会规范,要合情合理,贴切得体”(刘润清,1999)。我国著名英语教育专家胡文仲先生也指出:“学习外语不仅仅是掌握语言的过程,也是接触和认识另一种文化的过程。”老师应结合语言教学向学生传授英语国家的社会文化知识,
“The fundamental purpose of foreign language teaching is not to teach grammar knowledge but to develop communicative competence; the language that learners produce must not only meet grammar requirements, but also must conform to social norms, be reasonable, be appropriate and appropriate” (Liu Runqing, 1999). Mr. Hu Wenzhong, a famous English education expert in China, also pointed out: “Learning a foreign language is not only a process of mastering language, but also a process of contacting and understanding another culture.” Teachers should use language teaching to teach students the social and cultural knowledge of English-speaking countries.
