Calligraphy and painting are two different categories, although there are paintings of the same origin, but in their respective characteristics are significantly different. We often use calligraphic poem inscriptions on Chinese painting, but turning calligraphy into painting or turning painting into calligraphy is rare. Although the comics are diverse in form, it is unusual to see the “grafting” and the “integration” of calligraphy and painting. In recent years, I have seen some calligraphy combined with comics, that is, “works with paintings in the book and books in the paintings”. Some people say that is a comic, some people say that is not a comic. In my opinion, these works are not only artistry and appreciation of calligraphy and painting, but also comic humor, thoughtfulness and interestingness. They are comic in nature and should be said to be comic books.
