信息资源是经过人类采集、开发并组织起来的各种媒介信息的有机集合,而图书馆信息资源建设则是对处于无序状态的各种媒介信息进行有机集合、开发、组织的活动。也就是说,只有经过筛选、整序、组织等建设过程,信息才可能成为资源。在现阶段,图书馆信息资源建设主要包括文献资源建设、数据库建设和网络信息资源的开发与组织等,而对于大多数图书馆来说,建设的重点仍应是文献资源建设。
Information resources are organic collections of various kinds of media information collected, developed and organized by human beings. The construction of library information resources is an organic integration, development and organization of various media information in a disorderly state. In other words, only through the screening, sequencing, organization and other construction processes, information may become a resource. At this stage, the construction of library information resources mainly includes the construction of literature resources, database construction and the development and organization of network information resources. For most libraries, the focus of construction should still be the construction of literature resources.
