对优选5号、优选8号、优选9号等3个杂交育成的高茶多酚茶树的生化成分与品质性状的研究结果表明,3个茶树品种一芽二叶的生化成分含量丰富,芽叶中的茶多酚、儿茶素、氨基酸、咖啡碱及水浸出物含量均高于云南大叶,其中茶多酚含量比云南大叶高8.70%～10.03%,芽叶的茶多酚和水浸出物含量表现为夏茶＞春茶＞秋茶,儿茶素含量表现为夏茶＞秋茶＞春茶,咖啡碱、氨基酸含量表现为春茶＞夏茶＞秋茶,3个品种均适制高档红茶;此外,3个高茶多酚茶树品种的鲜叶产量特别高(比云南大叶高34%以上)、栽培适应性强(移植成活率达97%以上).
