科举制度肇端于隋,兴盛于唐,唐宋两代有多种专门记载科第的著作产生,但均佚不存。清代著名学者徐松撰有《登科记考》三十卷,取材广泛,考析精审,实际上是一部唐、五代科举史料编年,对于唐代历史、文学的研究是重要的参考书。晚近以来,随着唐人墓志的大量出土及其它文献的出现,一些订补之作应运而生,先后有岑仲勉的《(登科记考)订补》(《历史言语研究所集
