Objective To investigate the effect of respiratory tract management in patients with severe head injury combined with maxillofacial injury. Methods 90 patients with severe traumatic brain injury combined with maxillofacial injuries admitted to Taihe People’s Hospital from June 2013 to June 2016 were randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 45 cases in each group. Patients in the control group were given routine nursing management. The patients in the observation group were given respiratory management on the basis of the control group. The incidence of adverse reactions and the degree of nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 17.78%, which was lower than 44.44% in the control group (P <0.05). The satisfaction degree of nursing in the observation group was 93.33%, which was higher than that in the control group (66.67%, P <0.05). Conclusion Respiratory management is effective in patients with severe craniocerebral injury combined with maxillofacial injury, which is conducive to patients’ breathing, reducing the incidence of adverse reactions and improving nursing satisfaction.
