Based on the linear supply function equalization (LSFE) model, a new method of calculating Lerner index of generation company considering transmission system constraints is proposed. In a competitive electricity market, generation cost data for generators are not public, so market generators can not be used to calculate Lerner indicators for generators. Using the proposed method, the Independent System Operator (ISO) can calculate the Lerner indicator of the generator without knowing the cost information of the generator. The method only needs the quotation curve of each participant (power producer and user) and the electricity price, power information and operational status information of transmission network at the Nash equilibrium point of the market, which is easy to calculate and the result is accurate. The method can also show that the Lerner indicator of a generating company that conducts a strategy quotation is proportional to its market share and the market share of all other market participants, the price elasticity of supply (demand) and the product of the network influence factor And inversely proportional. It also defines the relative extent to which a composite indicator of the market is used to measure the role of power producers’ market power in the entire market
