This patent describes a thermoelectric radiation sensor having a bore (2) in the housing (1) and a transparent entrance window (3) in the bore. Inside the housing is a sensor carrier (4) which has a frame with electrical connections. A thin film radiation detector (8) is mounted on a developed diaphragm in the frame. The detector’s surface area is smaller than the entrance window. The radiation detector is formed by a number of adjacent measuring points arranged in a row of thermoelectric elements. There is a heat sink for these thermoelectric element reference points. The radiation enters through a defined aperture angle of the entrance window and is then focused by a converging lens on the radiation detector
