Are there any necessary links between being willing to socialize and health and longevity? The results of scientists’ research have given affirmative answers. James House, an epidemiologist at the University of Michigan Research Center and colleagues, conducted a 14-year study of more than 2,700 people in Cork, Texas. They found that those who had been neglecting social interaction for a long time had a 2.5-fold higher mortality rate than those who were more engaged.
