以物候预测害虫,是通过一系列自然现象的系统观测、记载,找出某些自然现象与害虫发生期的相互关系,从而以这种自然现象的出现作为指标,进行害虫发生期预测。害虫的发生要有一定的自然条件,而这一自然条件,受到影响的还有其他动植物。例如粘虫孵化,要有一定的气温和湿度,一旦条件具备,它便破壳而出。这样的温湿度同样也满足了泡桐开花的要求。通过长期的观察,我们发现吴兴地区泡桐开花与粘虫孵化有一定的相关性,因此,泡桐开花可作为粘虫孵化的预报。同时,还发现苦栋盛展叶,粘虫开始咬麦叶,可把苦栋盛展叶作为粘虫的防治警报。由此可见,一般情况下物候能够及时地、综合地
