Introduction Formaldehyde polymers were first discovered in 1859. After 1920, Staudinger et al conducted a systematic study. 1922, 1932, Hamick and Kolschutter reported the polymerization of trioxane. POM obtained at that time was thermally unstable and of no practical use. After many years of interruption, until almost ten years finally found a synthesis of heat-stabilized high molecular weight polyformaldehyde way. DuPont in the United States in 1959 formally produced acetal resin “delrin.” Later, “celcon” (the United States Celanese company), “alkon” (British I.C.I. Company) and other formaldehyde copolymer advent. In recent years, a great deal of work has been done on the theory and application of POM. POM research has aroused widespread interest mainly due to its rich source of formaldehyde, its low cost, its uncomplicated production of polyoxymethylene, its excellent properties and wide range of applications. Thermal stability of polymer POM can be made of various machine parts, on behalf of
