钼是构成植物体必须的营养元素之一。虽然植物需铝量甚微,只占其干物重的百万分之零点五左右,但在植物生长过程中却是必不可少而且不能代替的元素之一。钼酸铵(以下简称钼肥)是一种微量元素肥料,由于用量少,一般每亩只需用20—30克,所以称作“微量肥料”;又因其肥效很高,又称“高效肥料”。它的主要作用表现在能够促进作物的营养生长,增强叶子的光合作用,从而提高氮肥的利用率,并促进根瘤菌的活动,提高固氮能力。当土壤中钼元素供应不足时,施用钼肥可以增加农作物产量,提高农产品的品质。随着农业生产的迅速发展、化肥施用量日益增加,合理施用微量元素肥料,已逐渐引起了人们的重视。
