Mona is the hometown of hope, the famous Chinese-American woman writer Ren Bilian’s masterpiece, tells the story of the protagonist Meng Na exploring the history of self-identity in a multicultural context. The mirror theory of the French philosopher Jacques Lacan provides an excellent paradigm for the process of constructing the protagonist’s identity from chaos to rejection and return. Through analysis, the purpose of this paper is to reveal the necessity and importance of ownership of Chinese ethnicity in the identity of Chinese American youth. Ren Bilian is the leader of modern Chinese literature after Tom Kingting and Amy Tan, which attracted much criticism. “Meng Na in the hope of home” is Ren Bi Lian, “typical American” after the second minister
