大眼鰤鲈(StizostedionVitreum)属鲈形目、鲈科，原产于北美东部，目前几乎遍及北美洲的各地，是北美重要的游钓鱼类和经济鱼类，居北美游钓业的第1位。大眼鰤鲈为偏冷水性鱼类，生存水温在0～30℃。幼鱼以浮游动物为食，成鱼转为肉食性，仍兼食水生昆虫、虾类。该鱼类肉味鲜美
