《古今数学思想》上海科学技术出版社权威的外国专家评论:“《古今数学思想》就数学史而言,这是迄今为止最好的一本。”长期以来,我国的数学工作者、数学教师和数学爱好者,就希望有一种比较简明的、阐述一些重要数学思想来源和发展的书。上个世纪70年代末,北京大学的数学教授发现克莱因的这本《古今数学思想》,感到相当满意,就动手翻译过来,后由上海科学技术出版社出版,此后多次重印。该书新版在初版基础上进行了全面校勘,改正了许多误译和其他差错,纠正了原译本中许多不规范的人名、地名。本书厚今薄古,主要篇幅叙述近二三百年的数学发展,着重在19世纪,有些分支则写到20世纪30年代或40年代,尤其对一些重要数学分支的历史发

This book is thick and ancient, the main length narrates the development of mathematics in the past two hundred or three hundred years, focusing on the 19th century, some branches are written in the 1930s or 40s, especially for the history of some important branches of mathematics
