十一届三中全会以来,少儿教育事业发展很快,但是,在我们地处鄂皖交界的大别山区,什么都比山外地区慢一步。虽然教育部对音乐教学早有明确的要求,可我们这里许多中、小学对少儿的音乐教育还很不重视。音乐课被视为可有可无的事,校园里难得听到歌声。据一些教师反映,现在,山区中、小学音乐课大都因缺少教师而无法开设,有的地方片面追求升学率,音乐课常被挤掉。一些中、小学的孩子们叹息说:“读了几年书,不知哆、(口来)、咪。”他们需要歌唱,轻视音乐教育的现状亟须改变。

Some elementary and middle school children sigh and say, “After reading a few years of books, I do not know,” said Miao. "They need to sing and despise the situation of music education in urgent need of change.
