Gong Kun-yuan, a researcher at the Laboratory of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was born in 1914 and engaged in bioassays and chemical prevention and control after graduating from college in 1939. In 1953, the need to combat germ warfare was transferred to the director of the Pharmacology and Toxicology Laboratory at the Institute of Entomology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing. For a long time, the research on housefly and its control strategy has achieved good results.
