对2005-2017年肥东县教育城镇化和民办教育的发展历程和特征进行分析总结,探究民办教育对县域教育城镇化进程的影响.研究表明:(1)2005-2017年肥东县义务教育城镇化水平稳步提升,整体上呈现出“慢-快-慢”的时序变化特征.(2)肥东县民办义务教育发展十分迅速,民办义务教育在校生占比从2005年的2.2％增长到2015年的35.0％,远高于全国平均水平.其中民办小学发展缓慢,民办初中发展则十分迅猛,在校生占比一度高达74.2％,且90％以上的民办初中生就读于县城关镇的民办学校.(3)民办初中通过选址于城镇地区、推出并完善“寄宿制”与致力于提升办学质量和社会声誉等多种举措,持续吸引了大量农村生源前来就读,对肥东县的教育城镇化进程产生了显著的推动作用.
