According to Hong Kong’s Phoenix Satellite TV reported, the U.S. Department of Defense pointed out on Tuesday that the annual assessment report on the Chinese military has not yet been prepared and will not be released on Wednesday as expected. Since the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act passed by the U.S. Congress in 2000, the U.S. Defense Secretary, at the request of the U.S. Congress, must submit annual reports on China’s current and future military strategies, including the PLA’s current and future military technology development in the next 20 years and China Grand strategy, security strategy, military strategy and the essence and possible development of the concept of military organization and operations. The first three copies of the “Chinese Military Report” were published in 2000, 2002 and 2003 respectively.
