旅英韩国艺术家申美璟以肥皂为创作媒材闻名国际。2004年起于伦敦、首尔等地进行《ToiletProject》计划,以肥皂打造希腊神像,置于公共场域供大众洗涤使用,历经侵蚀及重塑后再返回艺术空间展示。《Toilet Project》系列作品因其独特的质地——肥皂,提供观者一个另类的“使用权”——洗涤,展演了观者与作品之间的参与性。经由观者的使用,作品本身一层层被侵蚀,是一个展示的过程,亦是艺术作品转化为加工制品的过程,而借由此角色的转移,艺术家诠释出其概念:地域、文化、信仰以及性别间的相互渗透、移植与形式本质的探讨,以及艺术独创性、复制和重塑的深层次探讨。此次Toilet Project
US-South Korean artist Shen Meijing is famous for using soap as a creative medium.
