曾经,我们翻译西方名著,学习西方理论,以西方的视角为中国定位。然而,以西方之眼来凝视中国,总给人以仰视者或者追赶者的姿态,缺少自我,也缺少参照。超越意识形态,在文化多元的世界与悠久的人类史中重新定义并定位中国,是新世纪学术人被赋予的历史使命。我们不能幻想传统中国的文明体系不证自明,不用变化就可以帮助我们在当代立足。我们只能在一个更为艰难也可能更为漫长的进程中去 We used to translate Western famous works, learn western theories and orientate China with a western perspective. However, staring at China with the eyes of the West always gives people a look-up or catch-up attitude, lack of self and lack of reference. To transcend ideology and redefine and orient China in a culturally diverse world and a long history of humankind is the historic mission to which the academic community was entrusted in the new century. We can not fantasize about the fact that the traditional system of civilizations in China is not self-evident and can help us to stand by in the present without change. We can only go on in a more difficult and possibly longer process
