雷蒙德·卡佛被誉为20世纪后半期美国最具有影响力的短篇小说家。其作品以极简的风格见长,叙述语言冷峻而平实。在情节设计方面,卡佛采取片段式描写,塑造普通的人物形象,思想意境方面留有大量的想象空间,因此被评论家赫金斯和杰弗里·伍尔芙称为“极简主义”作家和“减法者”。卡佛的作品代表着新的写作方式,影响着中国、日本等多国作家的创作,有着高度的研究价值,本文将就卡佛作品中的语言省略艺术进行探讨。
Raymond Carver was hailed as America’s most influential short storyteller in the second half of the 20th century. His works are very minimalist, their narrative language is solemn and plain. In the plot design, Carvour adopted the fragment description, shaping ordinary characters, ideological mood left a lot of imagination, so by the critics Hu Ge Si and Jeffrey Woolf called “minimalism ”Writer and “ subtractor ”. Carrefour’s work represents a new way of writing, which affects the writing of a number of writers such as China and Japan. It has a high research value.
