甘肃兰州黄河铁桥,旧名镇远桥,在兰州市白塔山下,今为兰州名胜。该桥始建于明洪武年间(1368-1398年),当时以24只大船贯连,浮于河面,冬拆春设。至清光绪三十三年(1907年),清政府议定把浮桥改为铁桥,并招德国洋商承办,建成黄河上架起的第一座铁桥。现从馆藏外务部全宗及宫中朱批奏折中选出相关档案予以刊布,供研究参考。有“天下黄河第一桥”之称的兰州黄河铁桥人们都熟悉,却很少有人能说得清它近百年前那段堪称创举的兴建历史。说它是创举,是因为它的建设发生在20世纪初叶中国积贫积弱的时代;说它是创
