殷商时代的“众”及“众人”在殷商时代的社会结构中占有极重要的地位。过去考释甲骨文“众”字 ,多谓其作“日下三人形” ,其实这个字并不从日。它的造字本义值得重新考虑。“众”和“众人”的社会身份在殷商时代是有所变化的 ,不可笼统视之。
