贝娄小说中丰富的内容与深刻的内涵主要是通过塑造形态各异的人物形象得以实现的。探讨贝娄小说中人物形象的犹太原型不可绕过的是作者对于自身民族文化即犹太性的坚守。其小说创作对于犹太性的展现主要可区分为直白和内敛两类。贝娄虽然受到女权主义运动和女性主义思潮的影响,在一定程度上突破了犹太男性作家的群体局限,但如果从犹太原型这一角度审视其小说中的女性人物形象,依然可见其对于女性的固化思维。
The rich content and profound connotation of Bellow’s novels can be realized mainly through the shaping of characters with different shapes.
