On October 28, 1993, Dr. Liming Ding, a member of the American Academy of Engineering Sciences and AT & T Bell Lab laser and optical fiber communication expert, accompanied Dr. Lin Qinglong, director of Bellcore Broadband Lightwave Systems Laboratory, to Shanghai. Dr. Li is an honorary professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He has given lectures many times in the country. Dr. Lin is a part-time professor at Hsinchu Jiaotong University. This is the first time that he has come to Shanghai for academic exchanges. The two PhDs held speeches and symposiums on the morning of October 29 and the morning of the 30th at the National Chiao Tung University.
