From January to November 1998, a total of 6 earthquakes occurred in Xinjiang, including 4 earthquakes; 5 earthquakes of 8 times (including aftershocks) and 4 earthquakes of 2 times. Quaternary earthquakes in Xinjiang are more frequent and the seismic activity shows high frequency and strong intensity. A magnitude 6.0 earthquake occurred in Artushi on March 19, 1998; a magnitude 6 earthquake occurred twice in a row on August 2 and August 27 in Jiashi; a tower on May 29
