西雅图是美国西北部重要工商业城市和港口,濒临太平洋、滨普吉特湾、背华盛顿湖,四季如春,常年绿意,有常青城之称.rn西雅图(Seattle)市的历史仅有150年.18世纪末,航海探险家便发现此地,但直到1851年才有第一户白人定居.在此之前,西雅图属于打猎捕鱼依山傍水牛活的印第安人.西雅图于1869年建市,以当时此地印第安酋长西尔斯(Sealth)的名字命名,因为口语误传,最后便成为了Seattle.1897年,阿拉斯加掀起淘金热,淘金者多经此往返,促使城市迅速发展.20世纪初人口已逾数万.第二次世界大战后
